Base on measurement in sepals and petals Gravend 1999 put this species in Coelogyne speciosa subsp. speciosa group.

The other flower is larger, and has the sepals and petals light olive green, the lip whitish with the typical reticulated pit-brown markings. It approaches the variety albicans, of which a coloured plate is given in the Dictionnaire Iconographique des Orchidees, and described in Veitch's Manual of Orchidaceous Plants.
